I want a ecommerce website want to sell Indian clothes online internationally. I want someone from India who can host my website and also want a domain name. I am ready to pay online. But it should be cheap.

india people

I am looking out for IT Partners from all over the globe who can outsource Web Design Services, Flash Multimedia Development, Web Promotion Services (SEO), web solutions, web development, Corporate identity and print graphics ( Branding ) etc work from me. can anyone help me out finding such leeds…

We are looking for reliable business partner for this and we are ready to hear good business proposals.

I recommend writing a short job spec for a specific project (or several). Submit that at Guru.com and you will receive many responses. Some will be boilerplate (standard text) and some will show that people have taken the time to examine your project and respond. Ignore the former and work hard at qualifying the latter through references, questions, and their interest.

This has worked well for me and I now have a short list of partners that I use constantly. Some are in India, some in US, and one is in Eastern Europe. The work is going well and the costs are attractive. The key to my success, thought, was working hard up front to qualify the partners prior spending any money, then giving each of them a single project with no additonal commitments. One didn’t perform well and I dropped them. The others have been with me for over a year.

Good luck!

Im new to web and graphics design and need a laptop. Im new to laptops too. Price is not an issue and already have adobe cs4 master collection for software. Anyone have specs for nice graphic designers rig? thnx for the help, Psycoty

Personally, I would go with the 15 inch macbook pro. Since money isn’t a problem, you can get a great looking machine with hardcore specs for 2100. It has 2.8 GHz intel processor, 4 gig of the new DDR3 ram, 500 gig hard drive, and TWO! graphics cards. One is a low powered Nvidia GeForce 9400 for your every day use without using a lot of power. The other would be perfect for graphics design. Its a GeForce 9600M GT with 512 MB of shared memory, very fast. The 15 inch LED screen has a high resolution and is the perfect blend between usability and mobility. It comes with the revolutionary new battery created by apple that lasts for 7 hours on regular use, and can be recharged 1000 times before needing replaced.( No other laptop batter can be recharged 1000 times, they usually last 300 recharge cycles.) You also get a machine thats super sexy, weighs 5.5 lbs, and is less than an inch thick due to its aluminum unibody(not crappy plastic). Also, it comes with the world’s most stable operating system, so you dont have to worry about crashes, viruses, and you can have this machine for years without a problem.

In the interest of not being bias and providing a good answer, I will tell you the specs you should look for in a PC laptop if thats what you want. You definitely need a fast processor, because graphics design is all about the speed of the processor. 2.66 GHz is the bare minimum, with 2.8 to 3.0 being the optimal level of performance versus money. Any more than 3 GHz and the companies will start charging and arm and a leg. You want at least 4 GB of ram, perferably the new DDR3 ram and not last generation DDR2. 500 GB harddrive would be the minimum, and if you can get the hard drive with 7200 RPM, that would be great. Screen size should be at least 15 inches for usability and mobility, but since you will do a lot of graphics, a 17 inch would also be nice(but more expensive and a lot less mobile). Graphics cards are trickier because theres so many brands that I don’t know whats what. I do know that intel graphics suck, so don’t get them. The only company I know a lot about is Nvidia. If you find a laptop with Nvidia graphics options, get at least the 9600 GT. Usually, for a PC in the 2000$ price range, they will come with graphics like the 9800 GT. Also, get a card with at least 512MB of shared memory. Most lower end models have graphics cards with 256MB of shared memory, but you want the 512 as it will provide a much faster system. As for battery, don’t expect anything great if you plan on doing a lot of graphics work. No laptop will last more than 2-3 hours with processor intensive graphics work, so plan on carrying your power adapter with you. But in any case, get at least a nine cell battery. A 12 cell battery is preferable.

Well, goodluck with your decision.

what is an editorial internship and what is a website development internship? what do you do if you are either (these are internships at a website). How qualified must you be for either?
these are both at collegehumor.com

Internships are often unpaid positions that students get when studying in a program that would lead them to those jobs. (i.e. you’re studying web development at college to get that internship position).

Looking at the exact internship postings on collegehumor.com, these are indeed unpaid positions, and their requirements are posted in the description.

I know that there are hardly any jobs in print design. I posted this question because I want you opinions on what you think about the whole "Print is dying and Web is taking over" thing. I think it’s true. So how would you advise a graphic design student or graphic designer who just graduated?

As a designer who does both web and print I can tell you that print won’t be dead for a while you. It’s not that print is really dying, it’s just that web is growing so fast and evolving so rapidly, in comparison, print only seems to be dying all the quicker.

In any case, as far as Flash goes, most web designers and developers really aren’t as much of fans of it as we once were. The problem with Flash is the sites take longer to load, people tend to abuse and overuse the animation, it isn’t search engine friendly, and sites made in flash are more difficult to update. I think Flash is actually dying, or at least Flash as we use it today. With all the new developments in HTML5, JQuery, and CSS 3, you can still get almost all of the animation effects of Flash in a website, and it’s much cleaner, easier to produce, and less problematic for the user. So no, I personally wouldn’t say it’s important to learn Flash.

If you decide to go into web design, eventually it’ll be beneficial to learn a bit of Flash, but it shouldn’t be on the top of your learning priorities.

Best of luck in you career!! :)

what type of questions would a web developer ask from his client before the implemintation of a website.

Just think about what you need to do your job.
It’s important that you are very specific about their expectations, too. You don’t want them to expect one thing (one very unrealistic thing) when you’ve delivered something else. Remember they’re hiring you, because they more than likely don’t know how to do it themselves. Just be very detailed about the job. It’s better to provide more information to the client than not enough. Good luck.

I would like to design my own website, nothing too fancy, but it needs to be user friendly as I’m not that computer literate. Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks.

Well depending on what kind of site you want to make for a personal kinda deal I would simply go to www.freewebs.com and use there site hosting which you can also use there site builder too. It is very simple to use. Now if your makeing a more serious site like for bussness or a club or wtv I would use the Front Page program. You could pick one up on ebay or microsoft.com might have one. But it’s a little more complex but sill offers a simple drag and drop kinda site building(it’s not scipt or anything hard) Only think I run into with it is that it’s hard to really put it up somewhere unless you plan to host it from your computer then it’s a little more simple. But as far has hosting it goes Freewebs is the best way.
