I am starting an ecommerce website, and am thinking about selling electronics. Will I just be wasting my time? I dont want to spend the time and energy on electronics if I can spend the same time and energy on another product line and make more income. I know the competition is insane.

The margin is very low on electronics now. The Internet is the only way to go for a small business selling the stuff. The competition is fierce in anything. You will get maybe 3-4% selling electronics and as high as 15% selling other products. eBooks are even higher.

Do you have something to sell online? Are you tired of searching for SEO friendly ecommerce storefronts and not getting anywhere? GoXSellIt solves these problems and more and eliminates your frustrations. Hi Guys, we are a web design company. Anyone knows any eCommerce platform that we can just purchase and start generating eCommerce website for clients. Like the osCommerce but something better.
Thanks

A Content Management System (CMS) like Joomla is a great option for eCommerce — primarily because of its flexibility in coding & design.

The other option is to start with a platform like BlinkWeb that comes with in-built shopping cart and similar features.

Both are free to use and develop.

Hi
i’m looking to build a good ecommerce website, basically a website where i can sell my products- an online shop.

I want a website something like wix.com where it’s very easy to build it yourself with no prior web design skills.

Wix doesnt allow you to go into great detail with your product description.

Does anybody know any good site building websites like this please

thanks

I need an ecommerce website. I am non techie but want to be able to update it. It is for baby products so those ready to go sites with a quite bare look and feel suitable for electronic products is no good.

Any way I can avoid paying stacks for a bespoke website?

Ok, go here: www.yiphee.co.cc create a free hosting account. Log into your control panel and select mysql databases. Enter a short name like abc and click create. Then go back to control panel home and click fantastico installer. Select one of the sites which says e-commerce. Click install. After the install, go to the home page which will be the username you signed up with followed by .yiphee.co.cc
You will be asked to complete the installation by entering the database name, hstname, username and password. After that, you have your site. Now you can log into admin and set things as you like. If you prefer a diffeent look to the site, then google the name of the site you downloaded and add templates. Pick a template and install it.
If you get stuck, just create the account, log into your control panel and click on ‘create a support ticket’ and some awfully nice bloke will assist you in every way he can.

I would like to know if is safe to sell to spain and argentina from my us based ecommerce website? I have a PCI compliance shopping cart and payment gateway by authorize.net with SSL. Any one with experience selling to this places?

Spain, and the rest of western Europe is generally considered low risk. Argentina, and most of South America, is considered medium to high risk.

FYI, your SSL certificate, Authorize.Net’s payment gateway, and PCI Compliance offer no protection against fraud. Also, AVS and CVV do not work on foreign credit card purchases. To prevent fraud from overseas transactions you’ll need to use fraud prevention tools (Authnet offers this for an extra fee) and you’ll have to do your best to review the details of the purchase to make sure nothing seems out of lace (which is difficult without AVS and CVV).
