Okay i was thinking about being a web page designer for a career and I was just wondering what kind of college degrees or training does it usually require……no one in my family has been to college so im kinda clueless about what i would need for something like that…and i was just wondering if anyone had any info about it..!!! Thanks!!

Tiffany,

Web design majors usually are not called web design classes. This is because most college-educated web designers are also taught other skills such as kiosk design, flash design and any other type of design that involves interactive graphics usage. A collegiate level web design program will likely go under names like;

Digital Media, Internet professional, multimedia design ,interactive media, Visual Communications, New Media, etc.

You should go to a 4 year institution and get a bachelors because most corporate jobs require degrees and becuase the electives and non-core courses that accompany getting a 4 year degree will make you a well-rounded person and seperate you from the 1 year web person that took a couple of online classes and is now calling themselves a web designer. Good Luck!

i am working as graphic designer (in garments field) and i am willing to join web designing course, so i want to know about the field and what will be the approximate salary for fresh web page designer but having a good knowledge in Adobe Photoshop Corledraw and Illustrator

I charge $35.00 an hour with a minimum charge of eight hours. But I have been doing it for about 20 years now and have a big enough client base and reputation that I can get that.

If you are just starting out, and don’t have a portfolio of successful sites, you are looking at $12- 15.

Photoshop, Corel Draw and Illustrator aren’t going to help you that much in web design. You need to know programing, unix, perl, java, etc. Do you know anything about Flash? How to make interactive data bases thru html?

How is anyone here supposed to know that?

I can tell you about one.

Me.

In this HTML website design coding tutorial I will teach you how to place your very own webpage/website online totally free. This is using WebNG:

actually i want to know that what that setting the maximum users have?

This completely depends upon the monitor and the monitor type (i.e. Cathode Ray/LCD/Plasma).

I always have my settings to the midpoint. If it doesn’t look good there, then something is wrong. That’s where most monitors come configured so that they don’t burn in, etc.
Ironically, here in the U.S. when you look at monitors on display at the various retailers, they typically raise the brightness/contrast up to 75% or more in order to sell a certain monitor more than another.

on average how much pay does a web page designer get?
(per hour)

Dive right in and start bidding on jobs at Rent-a-Coder.

While doing that, sharpen your skills by reading as much as possible at WebMonkey.

Rent-a-coder also has a lot of useful articles that are worthwhile reading. Topics like how to communicate effectively with clients, and templates for ironing out the detailed specifics of a project before you get locked into a contract.

You might also want to test the mettle of your existing skills by taking certification exams.

There are a quite a few free ones over at BrainBench. Other cost money, but you can see the test outlines for free so you get an idea of what "well rounded" knowledge might be in any given topic.
