Hate to burst your bubble, but graphic design is one of the hardest fields to get a job in nowadays. I went to the Art Institute of Los Angeles and got my AS Degree in Multimedia where I excelled in web & graphic design...I now work a desk job in medical referrals. I design on the side out of my home, but most of my classmates who were incredible at their design projects are not utilizing their education because there are no jobs. I got an unpaid internship right out of college. That got me a $18.75 hourly job at a company that downsized 3 months later. I got another internship job and was making mere ducats web & graphic designing at a film production company. It's really tough and competitive, but if you really want it, look into some trade schools. I don't want to discourage you, but just heed some warning before you decide to sell your soul to the student loan demon.
References :
Jaded from experience...can you tell?
